So you must know a few things beforehand while purchasing used cars from Japan.

1. Find out the right exporter and check how long exporter has been in this business, must be more than 15 years registered company and they must possess used vehicles dealing license. Call and check their telephone lines and other contact details including email address and website thoroughly.

 3. Know the payments and delivery terms & conditions - Once you find the right car in the right condition, prices and terms of payment now compare all the points.

 5. Placing the order/requirements - Inform your exporter or dealer the car you need and the highest price you wish to pay for the car.

 7. Once the car is purchased, the exporter will do rest of the formalities and paperwork for the inspection certification (if require), export procedure, shipment and update you the status.

 8. Shipment - The car is ship through RORO vessel or container within a week in normal circumstances but depends upon shipment schedule and availability of space on the ship.

 9. Get the documents for customs clearance - once the ship has arrived, you need the clearance documents related to purchase and payment for custom in your country and keep that ready.

 10. The car will be delivered to you within 3 to 6 weeks, once reached or arrived take the delivery and check the condition as per the details are given earlier to you.
